As part of a paper for this year's Society of Archivists conference, I would like to examine the general consensus that there is currently a shortage of records managers. There is lots of anecdotal evidence of posts being advertised, but not filled, but I would like to look at this systematically. If you have advertised for a records manager in the period 2003-date and failed to recruit, please could you let me know the following: 1. The name of the organisation 2. Advertised salary range 3. Job title 4. Geographical location 5. Level of post - pre-qualification, first post-qualification, mid-career or senior 6. Full or part-time 7. Permanent or temporary 8.
