WEBLOGS AND RSS FEEDS: A BEGINNERS' GUIDE 12 October 2006, London The flood of information onto the Internet is increasing at a dramatic rate, making it more difficult to keep up-to-date with new information and also more problematic getting information to users. This workshop considers how weblogs and RSS feeds can make information provision more effective and also save time by managing this increased information flow. It is aimed at both the information professional who needs to keep up and also those who are required to disseminate information. Participants should ensure they have access to a web based email account such as Hotmail or Gmail during this course if they are unable to access their usual work/home email accounts. This workshop is aimed at those who have taken on responsibility for current awareness or selective dissemination services and/or those who need to promote their services.
