It has to be noted that the motion was: "to retain LIS-CILIP alongside the communities of practice. The votes were as follows:" rather than just to do away with LIS-CILIP without any regard for anything in its place. Essentially, they were voting for the position to do away with one of two lists that appeared to be identical other than where they were hosted. I think it changes the outlook of the resulting votes. I'm not saying they were right, but maybe justifying it in the sense that they may have seen it as an opportunity to rationalise two lists into one. Even if they didn't ask us which one we'd prefer to use.
