Lis-mappers may be interested in details of the Society of Cartographers
2006 Summer School. It is to be held at Keele University from 4-7 Sept,
and will be the usual eclectic and stimulating mixture of lectures,
workshops, demonstrations, visits, social activities - quiz, dinner and
opportunities to network. Full details are on the website at:
http://www.esci.keele.ac.uk/soc/
Highlights could well be the workshops, which include ones on Freehand
to Illustrator conversion, Google Earth and OpenStreetMap, plus within
the programme further debate on the them of Public Access to Map Data,
and a whole section on Local Authority Mapping.
Registration is still open, with forms at:
http://www.esci.keele.ac.uk/soc/reg.html
