There is still a week to go before the deadline for applications for a PhD bursary in German Studies at Kent to commence 1 October this year. Please advise your (former) students!

As we are not in a position to require that an application also be made to us at the same time through the AHRC, this may be an excellent insurance policy for anyone who may be disappointed by them over the coming fortnight.

Kent staff are qualified to supervise most literary and cultural topics from 1760 to the present.

 

The details are as follows:

These scholarships will cover tuition fees at the home rate and a maintenance grant at approximately the same rate as the Research Councils (ca £12,300).  Holders of the scholarships, as part of their research training, may be expected to teach a maximum of 6 hours per week. 

The scholarships will be offered for one year in the first instance, renewable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress. 

Selection Criteria

The candidates must hold an excellent Bachelor's (1 or 2.1), or Master's degree (merit or distinction).
