I've been trying to find a list where there is some active discussion of the archaeology of shamanism. I don't think that the subject has ever arisen on BRITARCH.
That should be within the objectives of this list too shouldn't it?

Cheers

Yep Mogg, shamnism definitely comes under this list, but we never seem to get many, indeed any, discussions. I just wondered if there was a similar list to this dedicated to shamanic/shamanistic practices.

PS I wondered why my alchemic experiments only for lasted two minutes!!

good morning - couldn't that be discussed on this list?
For starters not quite sure what the difference would be between 'shamanism' and 'magick'
- perhaps a difference between literate and non-literate traditions??
In contemporary publishing 'shamanism' once functioned as a euphemism for magick -
ie doesn't scare the fish -
other euphemisms 'alchemy' = 'sex'
; )

Subject: [ACADEMIC-STUDY-MAGIC] Academic shamanism list

Hi, Does anyone know of an academic shamanism list, or better still a list where acadermics and practitioners can exchange ideas? The ones I've looked at seem to be fairly inactive - maybe just estivating (if that is a proper word) like this list out of term-time - but please let me know if anyone knows anything.

BB,
