medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Petroc is also connected with Brittany, in
particular because of the theft of his relics in 1177 by a canon of
Bodmin who brought them at Saint-Meen Abbey ; but there are toponymic
evidences of a previous cult of st Petroc in Brittany.
P. J. Geary doesn't mention the theft of St
Petroc's relics in his famous Furta Sacra. An exhaustive study on
The Medieval Cult of St Petroc, by Dr (Mrs) K. Jankulak, has
been published in 2000 (Boydell Press).
