A one day conference on the 4th July 2006 University of Central Lancashire Preston City Campus Who Should Attend The Department of Design is pleased to announce the first one day conference for designers and those involved in the design or refurbishment of mental health in-patient settings. Conference Background/Aims The primary aim of this first conference is to explore the context in which design takes place within these settings and the effectiveness of the contribution designers can make. Topics to be covered include:- - Language use and communication - Service User Involvement - Ethical Issues and Research Keynote Speakers The Keynote Speakers include Christian Barnes, Professor Bryan Lawson and Tina Braithwaite. Price The cost of the conference is #100 (+vat) with limited free places for service users and charity workers (on request). Lunch and refreshments are provided.
