British Museum: Archivist and Records Manager

We require a professional archivist and records manager to work with the 
Information Management team to develop the intellectual and physical 
arrangement of the Museum's public records. You will be involved in a 
review of existing systems; maximising effective use of the archive 
collections and improving accessibility to historic documents. There will 
also be scope for a more strategic focus; promoting the Museum's archives 
to a wider audience and contributing to the development of an integrated 
information management service. 

Required Skills/Qualifications: 
You will possess a postgraduate degree or diploma in records management 
and/or archives. You will also have two years’ practical experience in an 
information or archive management role, and will possess a knowledge and 
understanding of record review and arrangement as well as archive 
cataloguing standards. As the first point of contact for providing 
professional advice across the Museum, an ability to interact with a wide 
range of people and deal effectively with the public is essential.
