CONSTRUCTING A THESAURUS FOR EFFECTIVE INFORMATION RETRIEVAL: A  PRACTICAL INTRODUCTION

The requirement for intelligent control of subject access to increasingly complex data is becoming more evident.

The workshop will enable participants to work with thesaurus structures and make informed decisions about possible thesaurus requirements and design in their information environment

·	gained an understanding of how to review appropriate actions to enhance the quality for their subject data
·	the knowledge to evaluate the appropriateness of a thesaurus in their information context

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This introduction is for any information manager who has the responsibility for keeping quality control in data collections. It is also useful for small information system managers as it will enable them to gain guidance on how to maintain quality in their data.
