Dear JISC-REPOSITORIES List Members The London School of Economics and Political Science [1], with associate partners Nereus (a consortium of major European economics research libraries) [2], is working on a UK Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC)-funded project called VERSIONS : Versions of Eprints - user Requirements Study and Investigation Of the Need for Standards [3]. The VERSIONS Project is funded under the JISC Digital Repositories Programme [4]. We are investigating attitudes and practice relating to version identification in digital repositories and open access research papers, among researchers, librarians, the digital repository community and other stakeholders. We would now like to invite you to participate in this user requirements study as a questionnaire respondent. There are two surveys: - Survey of Experts and Stakeholders, with questions aimed at the library and repository communities and other interested parties: http://www.survey.lse.ac.uk/versionssurveyexperts - Survey of Researchers, with questions aimed at academic and research staff and research students: http://www.survey.lse.ac.uk/versionssurveyresearchers If you choose to complete one or both of the questionnaires your participation will be greatly appreciated. There is an incentive, in the form of a prize draw with the chance to win an Apple iPod. If you can assist us further by bringing the surveys to the attention of relevant colleagues in your institution who may not be on this mailing list, we would be very grateful. Best wishes Frances Shipsey ------------------------ Frances Shipsey VERSIONS Project Manager Library, London School of Economics and Political Science, 10 Portugal Street, London WC2A 2HD t: +44(0)20 7955 6915 f: +44(0)20 7955 7454 e: [log in to unmask] w: www.lse.ac.uk/versions [1] Library, London School of Economics and Political Science - http://www.lse.ac.uk/library [2] Nereus Consortium - http://www.nereus4economics.info [3] VERSIONS Project - http://www.lse.ac.uk/versions [4] JISC Digital Repositories Programme - http://www.jisc.ac.uk/index.cfm?name=programme_digital_repositories
