Nations, the IDMC is the leading international body monitoring conflict-
induced internal displacement worldwide. For more information on the IDMC,
visit its website at www.internal-displacement.org.

Responsibilities
Among the Country Analyst's main task will be the regular updating of country

countries in the CIS region; collecting and analysing relevant information;
active networking with humanitarian actors in the field and at headquarters
level; conducting occasional field visits; contributing to the development of
country-specific advocacy strategies; and writing detailed country reports
which form the basis of the IDMC's information and advocacy work. In addition,
the Country Analyst may be designated focal point for covering a thematic area
related to internal displacement.

Qualifications
Candidates should have an advanced degree, as well as documented knowledge in
the field of international humanitarian law and human rights, preferably with
a focus on forced migration. Applicants must have significant professional
research experience relating to the CIS region. Additional experience in
advocacy work, field experience, and familiarity with the international
humanitarian and human rights system at field or headquarters level will be
considered strong assets. Fluency in English and excellent drafting skills are
essential, as is a good working knowledge of Russian (written and spoken).
Candidates should be highly motivated, well organised, and able to work
quickly and efficiently, including under time pressure, within an
international team.
