Personnally I do not invest any credibility in the notion of a field as used in physics as, by it, forces are made to be secondary to the field when in reality it is forces that are the immediate representation of the properties of attraction and repulsion; fields are by nature homogenous (without that property there is no basis for conceiving of them at all) and therefore cannot in themselves engender a manifold of competing such effects. Their homogeneity can only be physically ineffectual: nothing will come of nothing. Cheers, Tom
