Dear All, I have done a search of the list archives and cannot find any recent correspondence about this. Please could people let me know off list of any standards/guidelines which exist for the destruction of electronic data. Our IT department currently uses "Low level format and multi-stage purge, using ACTIVE KILLDISK software - a 7-pass procedure that conforms to US Dept of Defence document 5220-22-M" If there are British or International Standards I would particularly like to know.
