The RGS/IBG has recently approved the creation of a new Sexualities, Space and Queer Working Group. 

The group has four main foci that encompass the breadth and strength of recent theorisations of sexuality/ies within (British) geography:

• The group offers a 'home' for those who address lesbian, gay and bisexual identities, lives and embodiments;
• The group will encompass those who seek to deconstruct heterosexuality;
• The group will seek to further provoke a questioning of heteronormativity, beyond simply sexualities.  This includes challenging the heterosexual norm through discussions of race, ethnicity and class.
• Finally alongside other interventions, the group seeks to offer scholarship that engages with the diversity of geographies, challenging heteronormativity and other relations of power within the discipline.

To support the work of the SSQ Working Group we have set up an jiscmail group.
