The Critical Incident is a three-day event taking place on 23-25th May 2006 (Tues-Thurs) as part of Brighton’s Fringe Festival.

 

The Critical incident is a celebration of creativity, innovation and art.

 

Venues such as The Freeman Centre and The Sussex Arts Club will play host to over 25 events aimed at inspiring creativity, innovation and change in people and organisations.

 

Events are individually priced, some are free, or you can buy a Three-day pass that will save you over a hundred pounds with many events free and all others heavily discounted. We have also negotiated discounts for a range of other Festival events.

 

Live performance, theatre, film, literature, visual art, workshops, online and live debate and discussion make this an event not to miss.

- - The World Premiere of “Empowering the Cheese”, a darkly comic look at working life from award-winning Rational Madness, starring Alastair Kerr (from Radio 4’s Count Arthur Strong), and Mark Katz (The Treason Show). Also we’ll be showing “The Cheese Films”, a short presentation of Rational Madness use of high-impact, low-tech film making in organisational learning

 

- The UK Premiere of “Photocopier”, an innovative sketch show set and performed live at a photocopier! Powerful learning combined with penetrating comedy.

 

The Institute of Unnecessary Research - Experiments with artists engaging with science, drop-in sessions, discussion and public viewing - amazing! “Has to be seen to be believed”

 

Azimuth’s premiere of “Don’t Give Up Your Day Job”, a new sketch comedy show with an optional workshop from this new company pioneering comedy at work

 

A series of workshops also form part of The Critical Incident. Your £30 festival ticket will save you literally thousands of pounds as we bring trainers/facilitators and innovators together who are sharing their most leading edge learning and development practice. Workshops can be booked separately or your three-day pass gets you in to all of them free! Highlights include:

 

Flying in from Denmark, Finn Kollerup and Charlotte Rosenberg will be offering a workshop entitled: “Creating through Reflection, Relations, Rituals and Results”. Finn’s company Alt4kreativ is famous in Denmark for engaging individuals and organisations in innovation and creativity that challenges the collusion of mediocrity. We’ll also be launching Finn’s new book, currently available only in Danish. Come along for a sneak preview!

 

Pioneer of Open Space and Co-Creation work, Martin Leith leads “Pier Review; A critical examination of your breakthrough project” - “You’re planning or implementing a breakthrough project at work or in your home life, and you’re stuck. You’re procrastinating. It’s all too much. You don’t know where to start. Or you’ve made a start but the project has hit the buffers.”

 

Award-winning facilitator Chris Stagg  presents “The Spoken Word @ Work – a workshop for people in business”. Chris is an inspiring and genuinely challenging facilitator who helps individuals and organisations get to grips with the world of ideas and linking them to authentic and effective practice.

 

If you’re seriously busy, then pop in to one of our “Tool in Ten Minutes” sessions where Paul Levy will distil leading edge and original training in creativity that usually takes a half a day into a thoroughly essential and useful ten minutes!
