International Workshop at University of Kent at Canterbury
European MA in Migration Mental Heath and Social Care

at the Canterbury Cathedral International Study Centre

Promoting Change through Innovation: New Approaches to Services for Forced 
Migrants

The Workshop Programme includes keynote speakers and workshop discussions 
on achieving change, promoting user participation and working in an 
international context.

Invited speakers include:
* Dr Sandy Gifford, Professor of Public Health and Director, Refugee Health 
Research Centre, La Trobe University, Australia 
* Representatives of community organisations including

- the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers,

* Andy Keefe, Refugee Council 
* Barbara Donovan, Project Manager Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children -

* Mary Blanche - Head of Service for Kent County Asylum Seeker and 
Refugee Support Unit (CASRU)

The International Workshop is part of the European MA in Migration in 
Mental Health and Social Care but is open to services users, practitioners, 
policy makers and service managers for an inclusive fee of £300 – rates 
without accommodation are available on request.
