Written during my only viewing of the Dutch filmmaker’s
contribution to “Visions of Europe”, a production of Lars
von Trier’s company Zentropa. Van Gogh's next film was
“Submission: Part 1”. Two months after that film was aired
on Dutch TV, he was assassinated while bicycling in Amsterdam.
