I would like to take the opportunity to thank those on the list for the help
that you all gave me re; Horse whims or engines etc. I will be visiting the
coal authority in due course its only 20 miles from me, also I would like to
say to john that my granddad worked in Hatfield Main and I grew up under its
front door, in Stainforth. Just as an after thought in 1838 two miners lost
their lives on the whim, as they lashed them selves to the chains that
hauled them up out of the mines, but it didn't stop quick enough, the report
says that there was a 14 year old boy in charge of the engine.

Regards to all

Bryan Maloney.
