The next in the series of Saturday talks at Bede's World, organised jointly by the museum and the Friends of Bede's World, takes place this coming Saturday, 25 March 2006 at 12 noon.
 
Martin Roberts, Inspector of Historic Buildings with English Heritage, will be speaking on:

The Churches of County Durham: A personal selection of eight buildings for a desert island

Martin Roberts has spent more than 30 years involved with the conservation of the North East's historic buildings, 25 of which were spent within Durham City.  He has recently published "Durham: 1,000 years of history", which explores in detail the castle, cathedral, churches, houses and gardens of medieval Durham.
 
Entry is free to members of the Friends of Bede's World.  Museum admission prices apply to non-members.  For details and directions see www.bedesworld.co.uk
