medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Dear colleagues,

Judging by some messages that I have read since I last wrote you, I am guessing that some of you may not have read my message. Please do so now (see below), and please -- for a while, at least -- stick much more strictly to things medieval. Thank you.

George

Dear all,

I really hate writing messages like this, either to individuals or to the list, especially as the aim of many of such posts of mine is to remind colleagues to exercise some self-censorship in writing to the list.

Please, before posting, ask yourselves whether or not the purpose of your message is primarily one dealing directly with scholarly analysis of religious culture from late antiquity to the early modern period. If it is, and if it is sensitive to the outlooks one can expect from people from a range of places and backgrounds, fine; if it isn't, then please do not send it.

Thank you.
