The subject of this e-mail is a quote from a review of ‘Philip’s universal atlas of the world’ (£90) by Christopher Hirst in ‘The Weasel’ (a regular 1-page feature) of ‘The Independent Magazine’ for Saturday last, 18 March.

Specific places covered include “a large purple bruise on page 24” (northern India & Nepal); Argentina, Buenos Aires (with 2 x Belgrano suburbs), & Sao Paulo; Everest & K2; and the Battle of the River Plate (that is the one regularly re-enacted in Peasholm Park, Scarborough!).
