Mapping France

The Centre for the Advanced Study of French History is holding the first in
a series of Workshops devoted to the subject of 'Mapping France', one of the
research themes currently being developed by its members.



Guest Speakers are:

Dr Renaud Morieux, (University of Reims, France), 'Maps, Toponyms and
Geopolitics: the case of the French/English Channel.'

Dr Liana Vardi, (Buffalo University, USA), 'Economics and Culture in the
late French Enlightenment'.



Date: Tuesday 14 March, 10.30am-12.30pm

Venue: Room 142, Department of History, Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences, University of Reading (UK).



Reading is a 30 minute train ride from Paddington, and the University campus
is a short bus ride from the train station.


Workshops are scheduled to take place at least once every term. Please
address enquiries and proposals to contribute to Professor Joël Félix
([log in to unmask]) or Dr Frank Tallett ([log in to unmask]); or
visit the Centre's web site, accessed via the History Department web page at
