italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The School of Languages and European Studies at the
University of Reading is now offering a POSTGRADUATE AWARD for a
student beginning work for a research degree in French, German or Italian
Studies in October 2006. The award will consist in the payment of university
fees for the degree; some paid teaching may also be available. Details are

The student will work in a field of research of
interest to at least one member of staff in the departments in question; for
information about staff research interests, see the relevant web pages for the
French, German, Italian departments.
Applications should be made directly to the
Postgraduate Admissions Tutor of the relevant department using the standard
University postgraduate application form. They must be received by
the department by 7 April 2006, and should be accompanied by
an outline of proposed research of 500-1000 words. If eligible,
the successful candidate will also be required to apply through the department
for an AHRC Doctoral Award, for which the deadline is 3 May 2006.
The School award will only be made if a candidate
of sufficient merit presents his - or herself, and will be for one year in
the first instance, renewable up to a further two years subject to satisfactory
progress.
