What I think one problem is there is so much difference ... Its not really my place to say anything but maybe it would be easier to defend if we had a proper national pricing structure that is supported by the national bodies such as the Royal commissions and EH many thanks Jason A. For an additional £45 we offer a priority service, responding within 2 working days. We don't charge VAT. Like Neil in North Yorkshire and Liz in Northumberland we were advised by the VAT specialist in our finance dept that VAT wasn't applicable in cases where we're the monopoly supplier of information. Our Access and Charging Policy is available online at http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/archaeology/smr_charging.htm I compiled a table of SMR/HER charges for the SE region when we were reviewing our charges about a year and a half ago. The table certainly needs updating, but the SE Regional SMR/HER group have been saying for ages that we'd like to make it available to everyone as a document via the HER Forum archives. It might be useful if coverage could be expanded nationally and the table actively maintained. Any thoughts? ... Bruce?
