UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD FACULTY OF MEDIEVAL AND MODERN LANGUAGES Part-time Administrative Assistant, Clerical Grade 3 (0.4) Salary £14,372 – 16,553 (pro rata) The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages seeks to appoint an administrative assistant to support the work of Professor Manfred Engel, who has recently been elected to the Taylor Chair of German Literature. We are looking for a native English speaker who is fluent in German. The work may involve copy-editing text in both English and German, and checking the clarity and accuracy of English expression in publications translated from German. Some research and bibliographical work and the scanning of texts and images may also be required. The post-holder will need to be able to communicate well with people at all levels in an academic environment. The post is fixed term for three years and is 14.6 hours per week (40% of full time). There is considerable flexibility over the distribution of hours and there may be occasional opportunities for overtime.
