The Records Management Society Executive Committee has approved a project which seeks to map the Local Government Classification Scheme to the Integrated Public Service Vocabulary. In addition, the project will also link retention schedule (i.e. Retention Guidelines for Local Authorities) arrangements to the LGCS and will maintain the LGCS together with associated mapping to the IPSV. Costed proposals are sought, including a project plan, from interested parties. A budget for this work has been set and is less than £7,500 (ex VAT) in year one, with subsequent revenue costs for maintenance to be provided by tenderers where possible.
