I would tend to agree with everything you say, Ken, but:

That NYT columnist who's proud of his Conservative bias was also on 
Charlie Rose the other day & he said that Bush _is_ intelligent but has 
gotten lost in his good old boy persona. If true, & I don't know, then 
he would be all you say here. Either way, well, it's pretty bad.

On another note, CBC news today had a story of a US (Homeland Security, 
I presume) multi-million dollar fly-over scheme at the Saskatchewan 
border, mostly armed helicopters, to keep an eye out for possible 
terrorists or other bad guys. That's a lot of prairie, more or less 
empty but for cattle, very few people present anyway, but you can relax 
because your government is watching out for You....
