Special offers for non-medics

 

To encourage non-medical professionals to attend the 35th Annual Scientific Meeting of the SAPC we are able to offer a reduced price membership fee (until 12 July 06) which will enable participants to register at the reduced members' rate, apply for bursaries to attend and to be considered for the Keele Prize.

SAPC Annual Subscription Promotion

We are pleased to offer an annual subscription of £15 to non-medical members joining between 1st February and the beginning of the Annual Scientific Meeting (12 - 14 July 2006 at Keele University).  This is half the usual fee.  The handling fee for payments made by cheque will also be waived for the same period for non-medics.

 

If you wish to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting which will be held over three days you may register at the members' rate.  The registration fee, dinner and two nights' in student accommodation package amounts to £396 (for registrations received on or before 12 May). 

 

Bursaries to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting 2006
To assist with registration fees SAPC is able to make available 20 bursaries of £100 each towards the cost of registration. 

 

Bursaries are available to those fulfilling all of the following criteria:

  a.. You are a non-medical member of SAPC
  b.. You have not attended an ASM before
  c.. You are below senior lecturer/senior research fellow level

To apply for a bursary please send an email after 09.00 on Tuesday 2nd May 2006 to [log in to unmask]  Please include your request for a bursary, give your name, your job your organisation and work place address.  Requests will be handled on a first come first served basis of receipt.  In the event of bursaries being oversubscribed we may restrict the awards to one bursary per department or organisational unit.  We hope to be able to confirm bursary places by Tuesday 9th May.

 

The Keele Prize

The Organising Committee of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the SAPC is putting forward a Keele prize, which will be awarded to the highest quality abstract submitted from a multidisciplinary research team, with a particular emphasis on contributions from disciplines in which research capacity is still developing.  The prize will be a presentation slot in a plenary session at the Annual Scientific Meeting and £100.
