Jahrhundert Sport and its cultural implications in 19th and 20th century Germany A One-Day Conference to be held on Saturday, 29 April at Birmingham University (with a possible follow-up workshop for teachers at a later date) Call for Papers The conference will take as its theme developments in SPORTS as documented in film, including documentary film-making, literature and other cultural studies around the turn of the previous century to the present day in Germany and Austria. Proposals for papers of approximately twenty minutes in length are invited on any aspect of this topic. The target audience for this conference is made up of both university and secondary school teacher. Sports related material for use in the classroom may be useful for a follow-up event. Papers may be given in either English or German.
