Dear all, Cees Passchier and Daniel Koehn will give a course in Microtectonics In Mainz, Germany from the 1st to the 4th of March 2005. Outline of the course: Day one: Introduction/Flow and deformation/Intracrystalline deformation Day two: Foliations and Shear Zones Day three: Veins and Fringes Day four: Porphyroblasts/Special techniques (including experiments and modelling) The course will consist of lectures and extensive practical work on thin-sections from the Mainz collection. The course will follow the new Microtectonics book. Costs of the course are 270 Euros course only and 330 Euros course plus the new Microtectonics book. Deadline for application is the 15. 2. 2005.
