Remediation works and assesment of Loss

Happy New Year one and all.

I would like to pick anyone's brains who has been involved or is involved in a remediation scheme. A number of you have already been very helpful.

Background: A chalk pit with 21 houses. BAP average of ~8.5 us95 of 10.5. The Council is the lone standing Type A person. Thus we have been assuming that we will need to voluntarily remediate the site.

Budget: An accurate budget estimate has been produced by capita. ~1/3rd of a million
Science: DQRA and remediation options are being developed now.
Remedial works: It is assumed that excavation to a minimum of 600mm will be necessary. Work is scheduled for September unless an act of god and the SGV task force otherwise resolves the issue.

Valuation/loss:The remedial work will involve total removal of the rear garden areas. This will result in complete loss of garden contents. We have accurately surveyed the site and in September we produced lists of all the plants in each garden. We have also appointed a loss adjuster and consulting engineer.

Question.

Has anyone out there appointed a loss adjuster and got a specification of what they wanted them to do. Our brief at the minute consists of :

1. Stage 1a- Residents to agree to the schedule of contents-
2. Stage 1b- Resident agree valuation- personal visit
3. Stage 2- Reinstatement agreement.

Any views from the experienced and the wise gratefully received!

So much to read.
