Dear Sara,
the most comprehensive paper on Ammotragus osteology has been given by K.-O. Gabler (1985):  Osteologische Unterscheidungsmerkmale am postkranialen Skelett zwischen Mähnenspringer (Ammotragus lervia), Hausschaf (Ovis aries) und Hausziege (Capra hircus). Unpublished DVM thesis, Veterinary Faculty, University Munich.
Written in German language, the thesis provides very detailed data on postcranial morphology, fine line-drawings, due to a broad metrical data set also good informations on sexual dimorphism, but no data on tooth wear or epiphyseal closings.
Regards,
Gerhard

Betreff: [ZOOARCH] Ammotragus lervia

I am looking for general information about modern Ammotragus lervia with a specific focus on the fusion or tooth wear data, sexual dimorphism and distinguishing between distal  metatarsal/metacarpal epiphysis.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.
