Dear all,

within the material from a defense ditch of the late medieval castle of
Vechta, Niedersachsen, Germany, I found a dog femur with a spiny bone
attachment at the caudal side. I have to admit I have never seen
something similar before and would be glad for anybody who has any ideas
or clues. I put a picture of the find on my website at
http://www.knochenarbeit.de/pictures.php

Regards

Christian

P.S.: By the way: Does anybody know what happened to the Animal
Palaeopathology Working Group (http://www.apwg.supanet.com). Is it still
alive? I never received any reply to my enquiry there.
