Hello Robert:
I have a number of references specific to the analyses of chelonian remains in mortuary contexts, but most are from North America.  There are a few from the Middle East and possibly one or two from Europe.  I know that its rather esoteric, but if any of these are of interest, please let me know and I'll dig them up.
