***************Apologies for cross posting******************* CILIP Scotland Branch/Group Day 2006 is being held in Dundee at the West Park Conference on 27 Sept, with the theme Google or bust: challenging the profession. CIG Scotland are delighted to announce our speaker as Robin Smith, Senior Manuscripts Curator for the National Library of Scotland. Robin will present a seminar on the John Murray Archive and the challenges the NLS will face in making this accessible for all. Robin will discuss the importance of metadata for the collection and how the NLS propose to use various metadata applications and content standards to enhance and enrich access to this very important national treasure.
