All are invited to join Rory McCreadie, the Barber Surgeon and Nosey the
Leech this half term event for families at the Hunterian Museum:

Barber Surgeons: Leeches, lancets and blood-letting

Thursday 26 October, sessions at 12, 2pm and 3.15pm

Come and meet Rory McCreadie, a Barber Surgeon who would have worked in
the 16th and 17th centuries. Find out about the operations he performed
at a time when hygiene was poor and pain relief unheard of. Rory will
take us through trephining, amputation and bloodletting, giving you all
a chance to meet Nosey the Leech!

Suitable for all ages.  Tickets are free, but pre-booking is
recommended, 30 places per session. To book please call 020 7869 6560 or
