Science Show presenters

National Museums of Scotland Learning and Programmes department is seeking to recruit a team of science show presenters to deliver new science shows in the Royal Musuem Connect Gallery (Edinburgh), for weekend family and holiday audiences. From April 2006, our Connect Gallery weekend events programme will feature two new science shows ( ‘Fantastic forces’ and ‘Transport). We are seeking to recruit a pool of science communicators who would be able to deliver these science shows on a rota basis from April to August 2006.  

 

Our team members need to:

  

·         Have excellent communication skills, especially for working with children and young people

·         Enjoy challenge of keeping shows fresh and fun for every audience

·         Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to think on your feet

·         Demonstrate a commitment to public engagement with science and science communication

 

Benefits

You will receive:

·         A daily rate payment for days worked

·         full training by science show writers to deliver each of the science shows

 

In addition NMS will cover the costs of the Disclosure Scotland checking procedure to assess team members’ suitability for working with children.
