The Royal Society is the national academy of science and has a temporary vacancy for somebody who wants to experience the fast-moving world of media relations, dealing with issues ranging from pandemic influenza to climate change.


 


Temporary Assistant Press Officer - For two months from 11 September 2006 


 

The Royal Society is seeking a temporary assistant press officer for two months from 11 September, in the first instance, to assist its busy media relations operation. The post-holder will carry out a number of media relations tasks, including the drafting and distribution of media releases and responding to enquiries from journalists. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who has just completed an undergraduate or postgraduate course in science communication or journalism and who is seeking some experience working in a busy press office. This a full-time fixed-term post based in central London.

 

Salary: £21,000 per annum
