The BA (British Association for the Advancement of Science) is a registered charity which exists to advance the understanding, accessibility and accountability of the sciences and engineering.  The Press Officer is an exciting role that provides a complete press and PR service to the BA.  This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and self motivated individual to work on two of the highest profile media events in the science calendar: National Science Week and the BA Festival of Science.  You will be required to research, write and distribute high quality press releases to tight deadlines and build and maintain relationships with media contacts. 

You will have at least two years experience of working in media relations.  You will understand the importance of proactive media relations work and have sound knowledge of broadcast and print media.  With outstanding verbal and written communication skills and excellent organisational skills you will be capable of producing top quality work to tight deadlines.  You will have the ability to remain calm under pressure and have excellent attention to detail.
