The Science Communication Conference - Scotland
Building effective partnerships for a science society

The Scottish Executive has made funds available to the BA to support a
bursary scheme for the Science Communication Conference - Scotland.

The conference is being held on 6-7 April 2006 at Our Dynamic Earth in
Edinburgh.  A draft programme and application form are available online

*****Bursary application deadline is Monday 6 March, 5pm*****


BURSARIES covering conference fees, travel and accommodation will be
awarded to the following groups:

* scientists interested in science communication or science
communication students
* freelancers/microbusiness (fewer than 10 employees)
* campaigning groups
* delegates travelling from remote or rural locations
* representatives of the BA Branch network

A maximum of four bursaries will be awarded in each category.
Additional bursaries may be awarded depending on the level of interest
within each target group.

Bursaries will be awarded solely on how applicants intend to disseminate
information from the conference to others in their field.


The Science Communication Conference - Scotland is organised by the BA
with the support of the Scottish Executive, Careers Scotland, SETPOINT
Scotland, SEAs, NESTA and ecsite-UK.  Working Lunches are supported by
Sciencewise.
