FRISNO 9 - second circular and call for papers *

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The time has come to submit your abstract(s) to the upcoming FRISNO-9 conference, which, as you know, will take place in Les Houches, in the French Alps between February 12 and 16, 2007.

We remind you that the symposium covers topics within the general areas of nonlinear and quantum optics, including, but not limited to: general phenomenology, semiconductors NLO, organic materials NLO, Ultrashort nonlinear interactions, Coherent control, Confined Geometries and Microcavities, Strong field interactions, Nonclassical Effects and Quantum Information, Nonlinear effects in optical fibers, Propagation effects.

As in previous years, the list of topics should not restrict anybody from submitting an abstract, even if it does not fall exactly under any of the subtitles.

A preliminary list of speakers includes:
Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, Immanuel Bloch, David Gershoni, Peter Hamm, Khaled Karrai, Ian Walmsley and Jean-Pierre Wolf.

Most other speakers will be selected by the committee from amongst the submitted abstracts.

Space in the Les Houches facility is limited to ~70 people, and in order to secure your participation, please submit your abstract at the earliest possible date, but not later than December 1, 2006. The program committee will consider all submissions, and notices will be sent out at the beginning of 2007, in time for all participants to make final preparations for their trip to Les Houches.

Detailed information about the conference, as well as instructions on how to prepare your abstract can be found at the conference website (www.weizmann.ac.il/frisno) .. Abstracts should be written in English,  should be one page long (including figures and references), and should be submitted as WORD or PDF files.  Please use Times New Roman font, 12 point size, A4 paper, 1.5 line spacing, with 2.5 cm margins all around.  The email address of the corresponding author should be included in the authors address. Israeli submissions should be sent to [log in to unmask]; all other submissions should be sent to [log in to unmask]

Registration to the conference will be open in the next days at the website, where information will be found regarding registration and accommodations fees.

Please feel free to contact either one of us with questions or for further information.

Looking forward to seeing you in Les Houches in February,
