There will be an informal trip to the power station of the Mumbles Railway on Friday afternoon. Getting there Swansea is on the main railway line from Paddington, and the journey time is just under three hours. The M4 passes a few miles to the North of Swansea and is easily accessed. The University is located on the seafront at the centre of Swansea Bay, about two miles from the railway station. Accommodation Swansea is a campus-based university and the halls, catering facilities, and lecture rooms are all very close together. Accommodation will be in a new en-suite hall of residence about 150m from the lecture room. Lectures will take place in the Faraday Lecture Theatre, part of the School of Engineering.
