For those with an interest in the display of natural history, _The New York Times_ has on its Web site an interesting video on the Akeley Hall of Mammals at the American Museum of Natural History. The commentary is a bit naff, but if you've never seen the hall or the dioramas, it's a nice glimpse. "Dioramas: Windows on Natural History" http://www.nytimes.com/ Today (Thursday, 06 April) it's on the front page of the NYT Web site, but I suspect it won't be there for long. Try the VIDEO panel at the top or try the search engine under "multimedia". It seems tied to a commercial promotion of a new book about the dioramas (nothing to do with me!). There also is some multimedia on the dioramas on the AMNH Website: http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/dioramas/ Joe _______________ Dr Joe Cain Department of Science and Technology Studies University College London Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT UK [log in to unmask] | www.ucl.ac.uk/sts/cain | 0207 679 3041 office (from overseas +44 207 679 3041)
