The National Preservation Office is pleased to announce the publication of a new leaflet in its Preservation Guidance series,  Understanding and caring for Bookbindings. Written by David Pearson, Director University of London Research Library Services, Alison Walker, Head of the  NPO, and John Mumford, Head of Book Conservation, British Library, it provides a brief expert introduction to the significance, history, structure and care of bookbindings.

 

This leaflet has been produced in partnership with Collections Link www.collectionslink.org.uk. Collections Link is a new national advisory service for collections management managed by MDA in partnership with the Institute of Conservation (ICON) and the National Preservation Office.

 

The leaflet is available in pdf format at www.bl.uk/npo and will also appear on Collections Link. A limited number of paper copies is available free of charge on request from [log in to unmask]. We reserve the right to charge for requests for large numbers of copies.
