The National Preservation Office announces a new course, designed to
help libraries and archives provide the optimum environment for their
holdings. 

 

Knowing the need, the NPO's report on the emerging national picture of

highlighted the improvement of environmental conditions as an imperative
for the long-term survival of collections.

Managing the Library and Archive Environment

 

British Library Conference Centre, 12 February 2007. 

Course leader: Jane Henderson, Cardiff University

 

This one-day course will help librarians and archivists to understand
the effect that a poor environment has on collections, and demonstrate
how to monitor and control their storage environment. It is led by Jane
Henderson, a well-known expert and trainer from Cardiff University's
Department of History and Archaeology, with demonstrations of equipment
by Chris Michael, Meaco.
