This timely seminar reviews the impact of library automation on the profession in the UK over forty years and includes presentations both by those who have been involved in automation activities, academic commentators and those providing advice about electronic based services today. It will include an evaluation of the impact of the Internet on subject librarianship, hence the title. Lunch, morning coffee and afternoon tea are included.
