Have put my bit in

The new rules for group creation should mean that if IL did not exist now it clearly should be allowed to be created as it does meet the criteria listed.

However there is nothing about how to de-merge a group from another.

The issue about reducing fees to a group and increasing capitation is likely to impact on the IL group because it does not control the money, the CSG does.

So if CSG gets more money because IL becomes more popular, we do not have direct control over that.

CSG and IL should be separate groups.

Subject: CILIP SIG consultation

Hi
CILIP has been consulting its membership about the future of special interest groups.  The closing date for any comments from its members is on Friday 5th May

At present, the IL group is a sub group of CGS. Due to the review of groups which was about to take place in 2005 the groups application (despite meeting all the criteria) was refused.  The
initial review was inconclusive in its results, hence further consultation with the membership.

This may be the final opportunity for anyone interested in seeing the IL group become a specialist interest in its own right to let their views be known.

Please take the time to let your views be known, the URL for the
consultation form is:
