Ronan, The whole point behind wikipedia is for anyone to edit who has something useful to contribute - therefore the remedy I would suggest is to go into the page & edit it (if necessary with a separate subhead for UK). If you need help with the editing tools I could help - you might like to see my Wikipedia userpage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rodw ) which lists some of the artciles I've been involved in editing. (Have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_literacy). A couple of things struck me: firstly the entry is fairly current yet, from my limited perspective, seems less than comprehensive although including as it does some historical background; however it appears to be wholly North American in its treatment. I presume that the rationale behind Wikipedia - that contributions are not solicited by any editorial board - means that such unevennesses do occur and probably prevail. What remedy, if any, would those on this list suggest ? I have an urge to perhaps at least mention the developments within the UK while at the same time being mindful of European and Australian initiatives. At most I should like to suggest that enthusiasts from this list might work towards developing a fuller (global) analysis or explanation that could be integrated with what already exists in Wikipedia. Some amongst you may indeed wish to disagree with what already exists in the entry. All comments welcomed? Ronan O'Beirne Principal Libraries Officer: Information.
