Announcing eLit2006: Digital literacies and learning in the information society - Call for papers
28th - 30th June 2005 at Loughborough University, East Midlands, UK.

eLit2006 is the 5th international conference examining the challenge of eLiteracy.   The conference is for all those interested in eLiteracy issues, including information literacy, IT training and the challenges of supporting the wide range of literacies which underpin online education.  It will draw together:
Librarians and Information specialists, IT service providers, IT trainers, Learning advisors, Learning technologists, Staff developers, Educational researchers, Teachers and many others.
 
Keynote speakers are:
Hilda Kruger (Lecturer in Socio-Informatics, Centre for Knowledge Dynamics and Decision-making, University of Stellenbosch)
Mark Stiles (Head of Learning Development and Innovation, Staffordshire University)
John Traxler (Director of the Applied Innovative Digital Technologies Research Group, School of Computing and IT, University of Wolverhampton)
 
The main themes of the conference are Digital literacies as a cultural tool, Literacies for the Information Society, Pedagogy for an e-literate world and Synergies for empowerment.
